The International Chess Institute (ICI) was founded to promulgate the pleasure and developmental benefits of chess to children throughout the World.
Chess is an invaluable tool for young developing minds in building better decision-making skills, increasing cognitive development, improving concentration, and raising math and science scores.
Contemporary studies document many contributions chess makes to developing student‘s abilities to focus attention, develop a variety of cognitive skills and enhances mental acuity. Even if children could benefit from just a fraction of what chess has to offer they will develop into better thinkers.
The Institute promotes structured chess classes in curricular and after-school programs in elementary, middle, and high schools in public and private sectors.
